Are We Trackin’?

[Coat: JCrew (old, similar here) | Skirt: Anthropologie (old, love this one) | Boots: Urban Outfitters (old, similar) | V-Neck: Target | Bag: The Pink Azalea | Sunnies: Target | Necklace: Kenya]

I’m sorry. I can’t resist a train track pun.

Great, now that we’ve got that out of the way. Let’s get on to today. North Carolina weather is what I like to call “a flip-flopper” climate. As in yesterday it was COLD, RAINY, and WINDY – and then later this week it’s supposed to get back up into the 70s or 80s. WHAT?! I mean, I ultimately don’thatethe cold, but I severely dislike flip-floppy weather.

Okay, enough small talk about the weather.

Truth is, I’ve had this skirt for a LONG time. Like, for years and years (well, 90% of my closet I’ve had for years and years). It’s one of those pieces that I just couldn’t get rid of. And I periodically remind myself why. Yesterday was one of those days.

I’m going to take a cue from my girl Annie over at The Other Side of Gray and write a little letter to my skirt:

Dear Skirt,

I like you. I haven’t really ever seen another skirt like you before. You’re a pretty color, you have a unique print, and you turnel*. I’m sorry you spend many a day in my closet. Untouched. Unloved. But I promise, I really do love you. By hook or by crook, I will find more ways to wear you this winter. ‘Cause I feel like, although you’re a bit “vintage”, you’re actually very “now.”

Only thing that irks me about you? You’re dry clean only.

I promise not to hold that against you.

Or at least I’ll try. Are we trackin’?

Good.

Love, Molly

*Turnel is a word I made up when I was two to describe the “flowy-ness” of a skirt. Also, flowy-ness isn’t a real word, either.

Enough rambling.

Hahahah I love the letter to your skirt. Nothing irks me more than things I love being dry clean only either :) I love the skirt on you and your coat is fantastic! I’m not a fan of flip flop weather either – sending sunshine your way :)

Super cute skirt! I love that it’s green. I can also relate to the flip-floppy weather changes. It’s cold one day, as in the 60s to 70s, and the next it is back in the 80s to 90s. Anyway, love the outfit, love the venue, and of course love your blog.

Wow. These photographs are GORGEOUS. You’re making me want to go find some train tracks and get some awesome, vintage-y, moody photos. I love how these came out!

I also really like how you’ve incorporated something from your trip into your outfit, the necklace is sweet. (And that skirt is lovely, the color is really stunning on you!) And your new layout! Love i t! It’s really easy to navigated, looks very polished and loads really fast. (Always a bonus in my case, my internet is sooo slow.)
