Sequins + Chucks, triFABBulous, & #YOLOmondays Link-Up

So, I had given a little peek last week into what I wore to the October triFABB meetup, but wanted to share the whole outfit with you today since I would also be sharing a little bit about the meetup. Or something. You know what I mean. It just made sense.

I’ll also say that as I was getting ready for the event and was putting on my pink and snazzing it up with a bit of sequins, I debated what shoes to wear. My first inclination was to go with some black heels, but then I knew my feet would be miserable during set up.

And then my next inclination was to go unexpected and wear my trusty chuck taylors. There was a moment of hesitation… a moment of “but these don’t go with my outfit” – and then I thought, “uhhh YES THEY DO! cause they are awesome!”

My chuck taylors are fun… like me! HA!

But it got me thinking… this is how fashion should be. It should be about going the unexpected route and going with your gut so that your outfit screams “YOU!”

So, sure, some of you may think I’m crazy for rocking the chucks with the sequins and tights… but to you I say… live a little! :) :)

hahahahaha well, i tried… this picture is just scary:

thanks Brooke, for taking my photos!

Anywho. So, Wednesday was also our October triFABB meetup. For those of you who don’t know, triFABB (Triangle Fashion, Beauty, and Lifestyle Bloggers) is a group I started with Brooke and Mia to get bloggers together in the Triangle region of North Carolina!

Our meetup this month was a #ThinkPink meetup and Stella & Dot trunk show at Graffiti Frozen Yogurt in Durham, NC!

BTW: If you haven’t been to Graffiti Frozen Yogurt in Durham, you are MISSING out! Not only do they have a TON of flavors and toppings, but they have PING PONG, a jukebox, move nights, AND you can write on the walls!!

Check out some photos from the event! (You can check out ALL of the photos on the triFABB blog!)

I think Brooke would have made a great Vana White, don’t you?

This is a reaction shot of me WINNING one of those claw games! I couldn’t believe it! I NEVER win those!

My victory dance.

Our group!

Crystal, Gwynne, Angela, Terri, Carrie, Mia, Me, Lindsay, Brooke, and Elise! (not pictured but was there: Lindsey and Abbi!)

OKAY, so NOW it is time for the #YOLOmondays LINK-UP with my awesome co-host Carly from Lipgloss & Crayons! We had 103 AMAZING bloggers link up last week and I could not be more excited to “meet” you guys and I LOVEEE seeing how y’all mingle with each other!

If this is your first time here, #YOLOmondays is a chance for us to link up anything we want (as long as it’s a blog post…). You know, cause it’s Monday, and what better way to jazz up your mundane Monday than to link up and meet some new bloggers?

Also, #YOLO stands for You Only Live Once. Inquiring minds wanted to know.

Carly and I love seeing y’all linked up every week! :)

The Rules for #YOLOMONDAYS Link-Ups:

  1. Follow your hosts Molly @ still being [molly] and Carly at Lipgloss & Crayons!
  2. Grab a button and / or post a link back here in your BLOG POST (NOT your blog’s main page) so your readers know what all the #YOLOMONDAY-ness is about. We love you guys linking up and we do go through and read all your posts… so if you do not give credit, we will have to remove your link. That’s no fun, right? Right. So be nice and share a link! Pretty please? :)
  3. Link your blog post up using the linky tool below! It can be ANYTHING! An outfit post, a giveaway, a story, a recipe, whatever. Why? Cause it’s #YOLOMONDAYS!
  4. Visit a blog or four that you’ve never been to before and leave a #YOLOMONDAYS comment – you never know, you might “meet” someone new that you will lurve!
  5. Have fun! Cause #YOLO!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

Love your look with the Chuck Taylor’s. They’re fun, and you’re right. Fashion totally is about your own style. PS you totally inspired me with this post to go outside and take photos with my new tripod. I was going to do it “later” (ie not get it done), but I did it! And now I have pictures for a What I Wore Wednesday post! Thanks Molly!!

Girl! I think you look amazing and totally YOU! I think being able to wear things that are at the same time comfortable, cute and chic is part of what makes fashion fun. Isn’t that the whole point of personal style? To be yourself? ;)

You won a claw game?! That NEVER happens… you are officially my hero. Also, the chucks paired with the sequins? So unexpected and fun. Kinda reminds me of something Kristen Stewart would wear, and I think she has such cute style :)
