High Five for Casual Insta-Friday + #NaBloPoMo :)

First, if you’re wondering what in Sam Hill #NaBloPoMo is, well November is National Blog Post Writing Month. More on that at the end of this post…

For now, let’s celebrate the awesome moments of the week:

1. Movie date nights :) Husband and I went to see Argo last weekend. Oh my goodness what an AWESOME (and totally stressful) movie. For real. So good.

2. I hope I’m not beating a dead horse, but I’m going to be real with y’all… I still love my chevron scarf. For real.

3. These dogs. Ridiculous. Love them.

4. Husband brought me “just because” flowers this week. Little did he know, it was exactly what I needed at that moment. Love that guy.

5. I didn’t want to answer the door on Halloween without a costume. So what did I do? I threw on my wedding dress. And my cathedral length veil. And an apron. You know, cause I was making dinner and I didn’t want to get anything on it. My husband thought it was hilarious. I thought it was fun!

And don’t forget, you can always follow me on Instagram to keep up with my antics through the week.

Now, #NaBloPoMo (National Blog Post Writing Month) is just a good way to get refreshed, recharged, restarted, or re-energized in your blog writing. Now, I always have a pretty long list of blog post ideas, stories, etc. written in a little document on my iPhone, but since I’m a writer at heart, I always LOVE looking for new ways to get my creative juices flowing.

There are a bunch of different resources for writing prompts throughout the month of November. I’m going to be teetering back and forth between these and these. So, if you’re looking to get involved in #NaBloPoMo, you can check those out.

With that, today’s question / prompt is:

“If you could live anywhere, where would it be?”

To be honest, this was something I thought about for years and years and years. Pretty much until the time I was 25, I thought I wanted to live in New York City. I was dead set on it. I was going to move to NYC and become the next start of Saturday Night Live.

But as I got older, it wasn’t that I abandoned “the dream,” so to speak, it was just that my priorities shifted, as priorities are want to do as we age.

I’m a country girl at heart. I’m a family girl at heart. I LOVE where I live now and I wouldn’t change ANYTHING about my life right now. I am so blessed. There will always be a special place in my heart for New York City – the sights, the smells, the cultures. But I don’t think it’s really a place I’ll ever actually live. I won’t say never, because I never know where God may lead us, but I can say that it’s highly unlikely New York would ever happen as far as my living situation goes.

Now, as much as I LOVE North Carolina, and as much as I never want to leave, truth is, if God woke me up tomorrow and told me to move to Kenya, I would.

For real.

A huge piece of me is in that village in Kenya, and if we could move there knowing God would provide, we might just consider it.

Now, don’t go fretting thinking we’re moving to Kenya, because we’re certainly not. I’m merely answering the question in front of me.

So, in short, if I could live anywhere, where would it be? Kenya. Without a doubt.

Other than that, as long as I’ve got the Lord and my husband, I’m happy. :)

I’d love to know: If YOU could live anywhere, where would it be? Leave your answer in the comments below or feel free to leave a comment with a link to YOUR #NaBloPoMo blog post!

Happy Friday!

That’s a tough question – I don’t know what I’d pick! I love living in Atlanta, sometimes – but I’m too far from my family. And going closer to them would take me far away from my group of friends down south. I don’t think there is anywhere I could live that would be the “perfect” place unless I could bring everyone I love with me!! :)

Molly – you are adorable! I just found your blog a few days ago, but I have to admit…I am on an insane-woman search for chevron scarf now! I definitely wear my favorites pieces on a regular (maybe too-often? :) ) basis, but hey – if it ain’t broke…

NYC still gets my vote, or London! Perhaps with a bungalow in Napa, for weekend getaways?

Well, now I know what to do with my old wedding dress! lol That’s just hysterical. Also, cute apron!

The flowers are beautiful, too! I haven’t been impressed with our selection at the store lately, but thankfully we have some mums still to pick from the garden.

OK so I was taking a sip of my water…then scrolled down to you in your wedding dress…yeah, I spit out just a little bit…onto my computer screen!! :) Seriously, you crack me up! LOVE it though, perfect excuse to get dressed up in it again. I say you do that EVERY year, lol!!

I SO had that dream to live in NYC and I’ve never been there!! It’s just been one of those small town gal dreams of mine. But if I had to, I would say Sydney or San Fran. I’ve been to both and can and have just walk around all day and just breathe in the culture, food and people. Just amazing…I always say I leave a small piece of my heart in San Fran every time I go back. And Sydney…oh man, I left a huge chunk of my right ventricle, lol!! That place is just amazing, LOVE it!

I’ve been wanting to see Argo for weeks…I’m so glad to hear it was good, I’ll definitely have to make time for it this weekend! If I could live anywhere, it’d definitely have to be Italy. My father and his family immigrated from there, and it absolutely stole my heart when I studied abroad for a semester. I miss it constantly!

Oh I’ve been wanting to see Argo! So you would definitely recommend it? Maybe we will go this weekend. If I could live anywhere, I think I’d pick Hawaii. Just because everyone always seem happy there. Or maybe I just really want to vacation there once in my life, haha. :)

I am participating in the NaBloPoMo and I would live in Key West Florida with my hubby and the two cats. I loved your costume. I let my parents sell my wedding dress since they had it and needed the money. Plus I plan on getting married to my hubby again and I want a beachy wedding dress next. :o ) Esther Norine Designs

OMG, we are the same person! I so wanted to live in NYC and be on SNL. In fact, every time I watch it I still think to myself, “I could so do that.” Love it!!

I’m glad you’re here and I’m glad God put you in my life. You are a great inspiration. I honestly think if I could live anywhere other than Liberty, NC it would be Charleston SC. It would put me further away from my family (unfortunately), but (fortunately) there is beach/city/historical life all in one place.

I love these writing prompts and am going to have to look into it more.

The wedding dress is sooo hilarious!! You are too fun.

I would definitely live in Beaufort. And get a house right on that main strip. I would love it!

Oh, Molly! Who knows? Maybe someday the Lord will call you to go live and serve in that tiny village! Until then, I know you’re such a faithful servant. ~Sarah

My goodness, how did I not know about #NaBloPoMo!? This sounds like fun… I am definitely going to be looking into that.

I am a Southern girl, have been all my life, thought that I would always live deep in the duurty South, but when my boyfriend took me to Oregon two years ago, it was as if my heart has always belonged there… pretty crazy feeling actually. But now I get excited talking with him about moving there after we finish school… see how the other side of the country lives!

Wasn’t Argo so awesome!? I get so anxious in intense movies like that, sitting on the edge of my seat, and screaming at every suspenseful moment, but I loved the story behind it!
