Molly,
I love these posts. I have 25,000 in dumb credit card debt. I am so ashamed of it and as a teacher in WV I have limited money as well. I am engaged to a wonderful and financially responsible man and I haven’t yet told him how much debt I have. I want to believe I can handle it myself but I also don’t feel right keeping him in the dark. I don’t want him to share the burden of my bad decisions with me and I am afraid at this point telling him be even harder. Any tips or advice? I could really use some. I dream of debt free and maintaining my dignity while doing it. Thank you!
thank you so much, jessica! i’m so glad you are getting something out of it!! my advice is DEFINITELY to share EVERYTHING with him about your debt NOW. don’t wait. do it now. i will write a post on this in more detail this week!!
Molly, I so needed this. I was a stupid young adult and got way over my head in credit card debt. Fast forward 8 years and I’m a married adult with a 20 month old and still struggling with my old ways. When I read your post about budgeting and writing out your expenses, I got excited…until I saw that we would only have $100 left a month after all of our expenses (that wouldn’t even include fun money)…expenses, gas and groceries only! I know though, by looking at your example, that we CAN do this. I would love to be debt free…it’s on the bucket list
…but right now, just feeling like money isn’t the enemy is the goal. Thanks for being so open, honest and encouraging! This series has been a Godsend!
i’m so glad you are finding it helpful, devan!! if you ever have a specific question or a topic you’d love to see me cover, please please please send it my way!
