ONE. + #YOLOmondays Link-Up!

Today is a photo-heavy post and I don’t even care.

One year ago today, February 18th, 2012, I put that white dress on, walked down that aisle, and said the most important words of my life: my vows to my husband.

I know every cliche in the book like, “It was the best day of our lives” and “I married my best friend” etc. etc. etc. You name it. But every cliche in the book couldn’t be more true.

This has been, by far, the most amazing year of my life, and I am so blessed to be married to a man that loves Jesus so much and tries every day to love me just as much as Jesus loves His bride, the church.

John makes me laugh, he challenges me, he pushes me to be a better woman, and I love every minute I’m with him even more than the last. He is honestly more than just my best friend, my husband, and my partner, he is my everything and I can’t imagine life without him.

John Stillman, I love you more than words will ever be able to ever describe. Thank you for putting up with my quirks, laughing at my nerdiness, and telling me I’m beautiful every day. I love you. I love you. I love you.

Happy Anniversary.

So, on this our anniversary, I had to relive our wedding day through images. And I wanted to share some of them with y’all. (It was SO hard to narrow it down! But hey, it’s fine, right? Right.)

My pink cowboy boots. :) AND a little fun fact, my “something borrowed” was my birdcage veil which I actually borrowed from my dear friend Emily who blogs over at Oh That Emily. :) still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography

Had to have a remembrance of my mom – I had her dog tags along with her photo on my bouquet. still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography

My amazing friend Bec and her mom did ALL of our wedding flowers. Aren’t they gorgeous? still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography

It’s a Phi Mu tradition to sew five pearls into your wedding dress – I STILL had mine and was so excited to have them put in my wedding dress. :) still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography

My gifts from John. You can see the whole post here about our bride and groom gifts. still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography

My dad means the world to me and so I wanted to do a “First Look” with my dad. Yeah, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography

John and I also opted for a “First Look” before the ceremony. YEP, we broke tradition and saw each other before the ceremony. BEST DECISION EVER. still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography

We wanted everyone to feel comfortable and casual – so we had the guys wear Old Navy jeans, boots, and vests. And for my bridesmaids, I just told them to get a “fuchsia” dress – worked out well! still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography

Now, let me explain briefly… after the bridal party walked down the aisle, the lights went out and a video played. It was like a “wedding checklist” – etc. and then the music built and all that and then I came down the aisle. It was a total surprise to our guests and it was AWESOME. still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography

So, I thought it would be a good idea if I sang a song during the ceremony. Well, it was going great until the awkward instrumental break. I was SO nervous that I deflected by doing a dance. Then I started laughing and everyone started laughing and I couldn’t regain composure. It was hilarious and so very typical me. still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography

Instead of a unity candle or anything like that, we did a God’s Knot ceremony. Falling in Love + #YOLOmondays Link-Up!

Happy Monday, you guys!

I am exhausted from an AMAZING weekend up in Leesburg, Virginia for my little sister’s wedding (my little sister from my sorority… I don’t have a biological little sister). It was absolutely STUNNING. Seriously. Amazing. And it was so good to spend time with friends.

I just thought I’d share some photos from the weekend :)

Since my husband couldn’t come up until Saturday, I took the train up on Friday. It was SO FUN. Seriously. I love the train now! Free wi-fi, gorgeous scenery, and so much graffiti. Okay, I know that’s weird, but if you know me, you know I LOVE graffiti… when done well. Seriously. I think it’s awesome. Don’t judge.

Photos from the train…

Graffiti!!

Got into town on Friday evening and headed to Amy’s parent’s house for the rehearsal dinner.

This is me, Amy (the bride to be!), and Claire (my grandlittle):

Bridesmaids with our AWESOME monogrammed robes that Amy got us!

Love these girls. We all happen to be Phi Mus, too. :)

Getting my hair did on Saturday…

Hair done!

In the hotel room getting ready!

Just hanging out before the wedding. :)

Some lovely Phi Mu bridesmaids… and Connor! :)

Holly Chapple did the bouquets and flowers… seriously. HOW amazing are these? GORGEOUS.

We happened to run into this random lady roaming the streets of Leesburg talking to undecided voters. She was actually quite interesting to talk to!

The beautiful bride…

Me and my big, Ashley at the reception!

First dance as husband and wife!

It was seriously an amazing weekend and I will be sure to share more pics with y’all once Katelyn posts them! YES! Katelyn James shot Amy’s wedding, too! Katelyn was our wedding photographer! :)

Anywho.

Seven.

photography by Katelyn James Photography

You guys, you know what I’m loving lately? Marriage. I mean, I love it. A lot. And I love it more and more every day. I’ve been blessed to be married to my best friend for seven months today. Yeah, sure, it’s just seven months. It’s not even a year yet. But every single day I am growing and learning something new and honestly, any excuse to share more wedding photos and celebrate is okay by me.

I know I’m a newlywed and all, but when people ask me, “How’s married life?” I can’t help but answer, “It’s awesome! I highly recommend it!”

And to tell you the truth, I don’t think that there is really anything that could happen that would make me say otherwise.

Sure, everything isn’t roses and smiles 24/7, but in the short time I’ve been married I’ve learned that when two people love Christ first and each other second, anything is possible.

We laugh, we play, we chase each other around the house, we go on walks, we tell jokes, and we serve one another. Unconditionally.

I’ve learned that when you pray circles around your marriage, it’s as though everything else just falls into place.

I love that we challenge and encourage one another to do and be better. John has taught me what it means to truly love someone – including all the flaws and imperfections – from the deepest part of your being.

At the core of it all – John makes me want to serve him and serve Christ more and more every day. He also makes me laugh. A lot.

It also helps that I find my husband to be smokin’ hot.

Sorry ’bout that, I couldn’t be TOTALLY serious the whole time… :)

Welp, here’s to 7×77 more and then some.

What are you loving lately? What have you learned lately?

Happy Tuesday, y’all.

Outfit Deets:

You guys, this is what I wore to my sorority sister’s wedding last weekend. I’m going to be honest with you. The reasons for purchasing this dress were two-fold:

  1. I needed a new dress because the last time I bought a dress was like… I dunno… a long time ago.
  2. I AM OBSESSED WITH IT. I saw it on Fedora Boutique’s facebook page and couldn’t run to the store fast enough to try it on. And then I tried it on. And BOOM. I knew it needed to be mine. (But don’t fret, if you love it too, ModCloth has it!)

Because I like to keep it real, I thought I would also show you my “getting ready” process AND tell you about an amazing company in the process.

Nicole, the FABULOUS woman who runs Radiant Cosmetics, contacted me a little while back and asked about sponsoring the blog. When I told her that my sponsorships go to our Kenya mission trip, it turned out to be a GREAT fit! It turns out that she, too, loves the Lord and launched Radiant Cosmetics to help fight human trafficking – another issue that I happen to be really passionate about. 20% of Radiant’s profits go DIRECTLY to an organization located in Austin, Texas that is housing young girls who’ve been rescued out of the sex trafficking industry. Amazing.

Anyway, you’ll be hearing more about Radiant I’m sure, but she did send me a few products to try, and since I was getting ready for the wedding, I thought it would be a perfect time to give them a whirl.

Nicole sent me an eyeshadow “Alchemy“, a brown eyeliner in “Brownie“, and a lipgloss in “Blush.”

So yeah, please excuse the TOTALLY awkward up-close nature of this next set of photos:

I took the same photo before and after I put my makeup on. And I used ALL of Radiant’s products along with a couple of my own that I had previously.

Now, a note – I have CRAZY sensitive skin. Like, I am allergic to EVERYTHING. I don’t know what it is. I have the WORST luck with eye shadows making my eyelids all itchy and irritated and it’s embarrassing and lame. I’m also allergic to like a bajillion lipgloss / lipstick / chap stick brands. I have no idea why.

Radiant’s products didn’t make me itchy, irritated, or swollen all night. In fact, I couldn’t even tell I was wearing them. I was SO EXCITED.

Here’s the Alchemy Eyeshadow on my hand. Super pigmented and went on pretty smoothly.

This is the Brownie eyeliner. I LOVE IT. It went on so smooth and I didn’t feel like it was choppy looking at all. I am NOT great at putting eyeliner on and it was even easy for me. I also love the little smudgy thing on the other end of the eyeliner. I don’t know what the smudgy thing is called… but I like it.

Again, excuse the awkward up-close nature of this photo, but I wanted to show you what the eyeshadow and eyeliner looked like when I put them on. For my final look I did end up using a few other colors to give some definition around the eyes.

And about this lipgloss… other than it being the perfect shade of pink… it smells SO GOOD. Seriously. I kinda wanna eat it, but I don’t think that would be wise.

…ANNNNNND I forgot to take pictures of me doing my hair. But I did my hair the way I did it that one time I did a HAIR TUTORIAL. Oh man, remember that? So, if you wanna know how I did my hair, you can watch that incredibly embarrassing video.

But, this is me all finished!

Apparently I’m not good at taking pictures in hotel rooms with husband.

that’s better. me and the hubster.

me and my grandlittle claire. you might recognize her from amy’s shower last week. claire also happens to share my affinity for diet coke. i love her.

me and janeberry. jb was one of my bridesmaids, she was my roommate in college, and i love her. a lot.

I love Phi Mu weddings because you know that there’s always going to be hilarious photobombs and tons of dancing.

me and the beautiful bride, jessica. (i still swear she looks like sarah jessica parker) :)

Yeah, so photo overload in this post. But what can I say? I love photos and I love my friends and I love basically “scrapbooking” some of my life on this here blog.

Anyway. Happy Wednesday, y’all. All for now!
