So, I know I wore this dress on the blog a few weeks ago, but I really love it AND it’s the fanciest dress I own that’s not my wedding dress. Ergo, it was perfect for today’s Blogger’s Ball link-up! I used to have so many fun fancy dresses collected over the years between homecomings, prom, and sorority formals – but sadly those days are long gone and I no longer own those dresses.

I wish I had an excuse to get all gussied up more often, though. I love rocking a poofy, fancy dress. Doesn’t every girl?

Anywho. I’m thinking back on the past year as we move into 2013…

1. What was your best part of 2012?
Without a doubt, my wedding day. I know, I know, cliche. But hey, it’s true. It was one of the most important days of my life and I’ll never forget it.

still being molly: wedding

2. What was your favorite book / movie / song of 2012?
Book: I love to read and I read SO many great books this year it’s hard to pick just one. I’d definitely recommend “Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?” by Mindy Kaling for just a light, funny read. For a read that will totally rock your prayer life, or if you feel you need a recharge in your prayer life, I’d HIGHLY recommend “The Circle Maker” by Mark Batterson.

Song: Oh man. So many. But probably it’d have to be Like Jesus Does” by Eric Church (our first dance song) or Cornerstone” by Hillsong Live.

Movie: Close tie between The Hunger Games and The Dark Knight Rises. BOTH WERE SO GOOD.

3. What was your biggest accomplishment of 2012?
Without a doubt, becoming debt free. Best feeling in the world. It took almost four years, but I did it and I’ve never felt better!

4. What are you looking forward to most in 2013?
I have been feeling God move in my life so much these past few years and I have no doubts that He’s going to continue to do huge things this year. A couple other things up my sleeve that I can’t wait to talk about and share – but let me just say – I know that 2013 is going to be an amazing year.

5. What are your New Year’s Resolutions?
You know, to be honest, I’ve never been a big “New Year’s Resolution” person. Mainly because I’m of the belief that if you want to make a change in your life or improve something, then just do it. Don’t wait for a “date” to be your marker. Make TODAY or TOMORROW your marker. Start right away. Make that change. Take those necessary steps towards improving yourself or whathaveyou.

But, with all that being said, I have got a lot of ideas and things running around in my head that I’m just praying that I continue to focus on those dreams and keep working towards them. I’d love to look back a year from now and say, “Yeah, I did the best job that I could have done and I’m proud of what I accomplished.” Because more than anything, that means the most to me.

What about you? Favorite moments? Biggest accomplishments? New Year’s Resolutions?

Happy New Year, y’all! See you next year!

Honorary Blogiversary + Favorite Outfits of 2012

Now, although I’ve been blogging for over five years, when I made the switch from WordPress.com to my self-hosted WordPress.org site as you see now, I somehow lost all my previous archives. (I did not know what I was doing back then. At all. Heck, I still barely know what I’m doing). So, I guess since the oldest post that lives on this blog as it is now was posted four years ago today, we’ll call today my honorary blogiversary.

And can we talk for a minute? Why in Sam Hill is my “first post” on this blog about bubble wrap? What can I say? I am weird.

Anyway. I’ve come a long way in four+ years of blogging. This blog has seen me through good times and bad times. Job losses and job gains. Moves. Marriage. The whole works. And I like that. If I want this blog to be a true representation of me, then I want it to represent ALL of me. And I’ve changed over time. So, naturally, my blog has changed, too.

But, I never would have, in a million years, thought it’d become what it’s become. And I love it. I love sharing my life, my faith, my successes, my struggles, and my attempts at fashion with you guys. And I love that you guys come back day after day and read it. It seriously means the absolute world to me.

I mean, look at this – my FIRST outfit post photo compared to my last outfit I posted yesterday:

still being mollyIronically, or coincidentally, that first outfit photo was taken in an Old Navy dressing room. The outfit photos from yesterday were taken in the parking lot BEHIND Old Navy. Total coincidence. Not planned, yet still rather comical.

Anywho. I’m rambling, per usual.

I thought, since we’re nearing the end of the year, and since today is my honorary blogiversary, and a lot of you readers may be newer readers and haven’t been around here for a while, I thought I might as well share some of my favorite looks from 2012! You can see all of my outfits on my outfits page.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I am, indeed, back at work today, so if you’re still off and relaxing – have a sip of cocoa on a couch for me!

As much as I LOVE trends – you know, leather skirts and colorblocking and all that – I love a classic outfit the most. As in an outfit I can wear year after year.

I’ve had this wool J.Crew midi skirt since for almost eight years. I got this blouse and cardigan at a J.Crew warehouse sale a few years ago. And these boots? Got them my senior year of college. I mean, I’ve worn them like 100 times on this blog. And they never get old.

I love a good look with a bunch of classic pieces. You know? You feel me? Are you with me?

What’s your favorite kind of classic look? Did you do anything for Christmas? Are you back at work today, too?

Happy Wednesday!
