Hostile Takeover + 14 Weeks!

First, I want to say how much some of y’all cracked me up after reading my silly confessions yesterday – but ESPECIALLY the story of me passing the car on the left. I’m SO glad I’m not the only one that has done that. Good times.

Moving on.

1. Had another awesome Sunday of hanging out with my friend Brooke this weekend – she even let me eat almost an entire plate of garlic cheese fries by myself and she didn’t even judge me. I say ALMOST because she did have some. :) THIS is why we are friends, people. PLUS, she dyed the ends of her hair pink. Girl after my own heart.

2. + 3. + 4. The following three pictures are of my dogs and their hostile takeover of our bed in the morning(s) while I get ready for work. They’re not allowed on the bed at night, but they take full advantage in the morning. I mean, really? Look at them. If I’m this infatuated with adorable, stinky dogs I am SCREWED once this baby arrives. amiright? GAH. REALLY?! So cute.

5. 14 Week update!

still being molly - maternity style: boyfriend jeans, cobalt tank, black cardigan, glitter flatsHere’s my current pregnancy update:

How far along: 14 weeks!
How big is baby: A lemon – 3-3.5 inches.
Weight gain: Just about two pounds.
Sleeping: Getting better, still not great, but improving.
Food cravings: Other than Mexican food, I had the BIGGEST craving for a vanilla or funfetti cupcake yesterday.
Food aversions: Chocolate. I don’t want chocolate at all. Vanilla is fine, but even the smell of chocolate makes me a little queasy.
Symptoms: Doing better this week after a rough week last week. Still fighting the nausea, which is not fun. And I still want to sleep all the time. I know that this is supposed to be waning, but so far, no sign of it letting up.
Doctor’s appointment: My 14 week appointment is today (Friday!)
Movement: Still none.
Best moment of the week: So, I’ve read in a lot of places that baby can HEAR now. Obviously the sounds are muffled, but I still like to think that baby hears what’s going on. So yes, I started reading to baby AND my sweet friend Brooke gave me her belly buds from when she was pregnant, so now I’m playing MUSIC for baby! I even found a lullaby Pandora station so baby gets to listen to lullabies.
What I’m looking forward to: I can’t WAIT to feel this baby move. I know it’s going to be a while, but I really can’t wait.
What I did / Got for baby: Still nothing really yet – except that I’m reading to baby and playing baby music.
What I learned this week: That baby can hear now! SO COOL!
Prayer requests: I feel like a broken record, but prayer for energy. I just want /need energy. I just want to feel up to doing things. I still just don’t feel like doing anything but eating and sleeping. I want to be not lame anymore. :(

High-five for Insta-Friday!

You guys! Happy Friday! I just want to say a quick THANK YOU to all of you for the birthday wishes yesterday, in addition to all of your prayers and support.

I also have to give a HUGE thank you to Beth, Lindsay, Jamie, Bonnie, and Nicole for supporting me by sponsoring our mission trip. You ladies are amazing. THANK you.

Now, onto high-five for insta-friday. I’m linking up with Lauren and Jeannett today!

1. Apparently I have a penchant for finding money on the ground in Hillsborough. One time I found $10. Last weekend I found $4. WIN.

2. I know you guys are probably tired of me sharing pictures of my dogs. I, however, am not. I can’t handle these two. Seriously. Look at the way they snuggle. Priceless.

3. YES! Husband got me the Phi Mu Lilly Pulitzer makeup bag for my birthday. He knows me too well. <3 (Look at all the pink and quats!) YES!

4. So, I don’t drink coffee, but I DO drink Diet Coke. And there’s a freaking awesome convenience store across from where I work that I go to every single day once in a while. I mean, their Diet Coke is a PERFECT mixture AND they have crushed ice. Best. Ever. Well, the staff knew it was my birthday and gave me a free one! YES. I mean, they’re only $0.79 cents to begin with, but whatever.

5. At the last minute, we decided to do a low-key birthday dinner and instead of going anywhere fancy, hubs and I just went to Bandido’s. And you know what? Chips + salsa + burrito + husband = pretty awesome birthday dinner.

Anyway, I am feeling very much full of love and blessings today. Happy Friday, y’all.

#YOLOmondays Link-Up & The Dogs

You guys, happy Monday. WHO WATCHED THE CLOSING CEREMONIES LAST NIGHT? I’m sorry, but my 90s fan girl was kind of geeking out over the Spice Girls and Oasis. I’d be lying to you if I said I didn’t still LURVE the Spice Girls. GAH. Now I want to watch Spice World again.

Closing ceremonies > opening ceremonies.

Anyway, moving on. Welcome to the EIGHTH #YOLOmondays linkup! WAHOO! Thanks to ALL the amazing bloggers who have linked up over the past eight weeks. I know I’ve discovered some PRETTY amazing people and I hope you have, too.

You know, after blogging 7 days a week, sometimes more than once a day, for the past many months, sometimes you need a blogging day off.

However, because I don’t know how to take a day off, I realized that I’ve never FORMALLY introduced you to our children.

No, we don’t have human babies, yet (and not any time soon). We have furry babies… two to be exact.

So, in today’s post, I would like to formally introduce you to Audrey Hepburn and Tater, our furry babies.

They’re best friends. Through thick and thin. They’re weird and often a nuisance, but we love them. Too much, probably.

Tater Stillman is a Pitbull / Cattle Dog? mix. We know she’s pitty and we think she’s cattle dog. We also are fairly certain there is PIG in there. Like, the kind that oinks, yes.

Audrey Hepburn Buckley Stillman is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. A long name for a small dog. Audrey is submissive and as you will see in many of the photos below, if you get near her, she often ends up on her back.

FUN TATER FACT: When John got her from the pound three years ago, her given name was “Allegra” – not a great name for her. We realized later that it HAD to be because of her SERIOUS sneezing issues. Seriously. Tater sneezes so much. So we think she was named after the allergy medication.

They are the YIN and YANG of dogs.

  • Tater? Hardly barks. Audrey? Constantly barks.
  • Tater? Big and muscular. Audrey? Kind of a pansy.
  • Tater? Ears perked. Audrey? Floppy ears.

Yet, they lurve each other.

FUN AUDREY FACT: I got Audrey from a little farm outside of Richmond. She was the runt of her litter that no one wanted, until I went to the farm one day to look at another dog. Until Audrey came running around the corner and stole my heart.

Now time to #YOLOmondays Link-Up with my awesome co-host Carly from Lipgloss & Crayons! Grab the button :) (code is available in the sidebar, or you can just right-click and save the above button) The Rules for #YOLOMONDAYS Link-Ups:

We love you guys linking up and we do go through and read all your posts… so if you do not give credit, we will have to remove your link. That’s no fun, right? Right. So be nice and share a link! :) Pretty please?
  2. Link your blog post up using the linky tool below! It can be ANYTHING! An outfit post, a giveaway, a story, a recipe, whatever. Why? Cause it’s #YOLOMONDAYS!
  3. Visit a blog or four that you’ve never been to before and leave a #YOLOMONDAYS comment – you never know, you might “meet” someone new that you will lurve!
  4. Have fun! Cause #YOLO!

Friday the 13th High Fives…? …and a proposal

You guys, thank the good Lord it is Friday. It’s just been one of those weeks where I am glad that tomorrow is Saturday and I can spend my time sleeping and doing nothing. A whole lot of nothing. My sabbath, if you will.

Now, on to this week’s High Fives… except one of them isn’t really a high five… it’s more like a slap myself in the face… five. Also, you’re going to want to check out number 5. I promise.

1. I rearranged and cleaned and organized and re-color-coded my closet. This has been one of those things on my to-do list for awhile and I finally got it done. A video blog closet tour coming soon? I think so.

2. So, the senior pastor at our church is on a much-needed and well-deserved sabbatical for the summer and we’ve had some amazing guest pastors come in. Well, this past sunday, Pastor Ryan Brooks brought the house DOWN. Seriously. If you need an encouraging message, a pick me up, you want to feel challenged and empowered, or you just want to laugh like crazy… TRUST ME, you want to take 34 minutes and watch this sermon.

You. Will. NOT. Be. Disappointed. I’m not kidding. Watch it. If you have time in the next couple days, watch it.

3. I love our dogs. They are so dang cute and they do things like this and they sit by the back door and I just want to hug and kiss them. And they look so innocent… until…

4. I come home to this. I put the trashcans away, move the food off the counters, and close the doors to all the rooms in the house… but no, they have now turned to ripping open bags of precious, priceless VHS tapes and destroying them. You know, tapes of my chorus concerts and tapes of my mom on the History Channel. You know, those. Now, after proper assessment only one is TOTALLY destroyed, the rest are moderately damaged. Ugh. Needless to say, the dogs are in the dog house right now.

5. The proposal. Yes, I’m already married. But one year ago yesterday was the day my, now husband, proposed to me. And I never really did anything to share / archive the audio from our proposal. Well, I put this little diddy together that has the audio from our proposal along with a few photos. SO, I thought I’d share it with you!

You see, John and I met while working together at a radio station. And, well, it was only appropriate that he surprised me by proposing LIVE on the air. Well, the whole thing was recorded LIVE.

John, thank you for making me the happiest woman in the world by asking me that oh-so-important question a year ago.

Enjoy, y’all. :)

So yeah, that’s what I got going on this here Friday. What are you high fiving today?

all for now, y’all. – molly

As usual, I’m linking up with Lauren at From My Grey Desk!
