I seriously can’t believe it’s MAY 6th. Where have the past few months gone? I know people say that all the time, but I’m being for serious. March and April just FLEW by, in my opinion.

I was trying to figure out the other day why these two months went so much faster than December – February. I’m thinking it was because December – February I was SO sick from the pregnancy – and while I was certainly not feeling great in March, it was better. But I also think I’m rapidly realizing how quick August 7th is going to come. I’m in my THIRD trimester this week. AHHHH.

Anyway!

The weather has been less than stellar the past two weeks and it’s almost felt like fall again. It’s kinda bizarre, really. But, I’m still making myself believe that it is spring, because spring is my favorite season.

I don’t really know what any of that has to do with me wearing this black and white striped maternity dress from Old Navy – which I got for $10 doll hairs. YES. But, nevertheless, it’s a comfortable dress, spring is my favorite season, and Cinco de Mayo is my favorite food holiday.

I’m all over the place today, aren’t I? Blame it on Monday, blame it on pregnancy brain, blame it on what you want – I blame it on being awesome. Or something. :)

There are not too many things in this world that I feel like I can call myself an “expert” on. Sure, there are a lot of things I feel like I know a lot about, or I feel confident in my level of knowledge, but not a whole lot I feel quite “expert level” on.

However, it is in my humble opinion that I’ve reached the borderline of expert level on remixing pieces in my wardrobe and making them feel totally different.

For example, just a few weeks ago a wore this exact denim jacket and scarf combo, but with an orange dress and flip flops. And goodness knows I’ve worn this yellow blouse a million different ways.

Pregnancy has really forced me to look at my wardrobe in an entirely different way in order to get as much wear as possible out of each and every piece. I have to say, it’s been challenging, but fun! I actually look forward to continuing to figure out ways to stretch my wardrobe as my, well, belly continues to stretch out… or something. You know what I mean.

What about you? What do you feel like you’re an “expert” on? Are you a remix-Queen / King?

Got My Swim Trunks and My Flippy Floppys

It’s no secret I love flip flops. Sure, “flip flops” aren’t necessarily “cool” in trendy blogland, but I keep it real around here and I would rock a pair of flip flops any time, any season. They are so comfortable. And especially as shoes with any kind of heel are becoming more and more uncomfortable as I progress throughout this pregnancy, finding comfortable footwear is key. You know, whether that comfortable footwear is a pair of flip flops, flats or sneakers.

One of my favorite “summer” go-to brand of shoes has always been Havaianas. In fact, when I put a pair of Havaianas flip flops on, it automatically feels like summer. I think the beach, cookouts, and pool parties. It’s like I’m taken to a happy place or something. I have a pair of pink Havaianas that I have probably had for like 15 years or something like that and they are still comfy and trusty.

Anyway, Havaianas has released some adorable new flip flop styles for 2013 AND they have some adorable SHOES, too!

Check out a few of my favorite of the Spring 2013 arrivals. Here are the Slim Graphic Flip Flops and Slim Fresh Flip Flops. I can’t decide which ones I love the most. I love the colors in the graphic pairs, but I’m such a sucker for polka dots it’s hard to pick a true favorite.

Trendy Patterned Flip Flops from Havaianas

I also came across these gorgeous lace espadrilles and absolutely fell in LOVE with them – I just can’t decide whether I like the classic or ballerina style best. They look SO cute and COMFORTABLE. Comfort is key, right? Right. Right.

Trendy Lace Espadrilles from Havaianas

And, although I’ll be honest, I don’t wear them much on the blog (I’m not sure why, because I wear bright sneaks all the time), I LOVE bright, fun, statement sneakers. Seriously. I LOVEEEEE a good pair of bright sneakers and I pretty much love each one of these Urbis low sneakers.Trendy Bright Sneakers from Havaianas

Which pair is your favorite? Do you love the flip flops, espadrilles, or sneakers best? Have you ever worn Havaianas?

This post was brought to you by the fab people at Havaianas, but I’ll have you know I really do love the company and every word I wrote is my own, yo.

Can a pregnant lady wear a non-maternity drop-waist dress?

Yesiree, Bob, she can!

Now, the key to the drop waist trend (which, I’ll be TOTALLY honest, I don’t typically LOVE), is to NOT belt your dress at the waist / chest. That creates an awkward figure / shape that you just don’t want.

I was able to snag this Prabal Gurung for Target cotton drop waist dress on clearance for $10 last week and I love it. It’s not my typical style, but it’s SO UNBELIEVABLY comfortable and super fun. Plus, it was $10. No brainer.

Now, I want to introduce you to my sweet blog friend Lindsay from Pursuit of Pink! She’s got an AWESOME giveaway for y’all today!

lindsay-pursuit-of-pink

Hi everyone! I’m Lindsay and I blog over at Pursuit of Pink, which is my little place of happiness on the internet. I blog about all things that make me happy: beauty, personal style, home décor, recipes, organization and more. And yes, my favorite color is pink, so there is plenty of that great color all over my blog. I am a person who tries hard to stay positive and I certainly hope my blog is uplifting to each of my readers.

Through Pursuit of Pink, I hope to bring a little bit of positivity back to the internet. If you are looking for a place full of happiness, smiles and a silly gal who tries not to take herself too seriously, then please stop by. I love connecting with my readers; I truly believe we can all learn from each other (man that’s so cliché, but true). I’m all over social media too, so follow along on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You’ll be sure to see plenty of pics of my hubby Tolar, our sweet pup JoJo, my growing baby bump (I’m pregnant with our first child and due only a month before Molly!) and our crazy adventures of living in the nation’s capitol.

Isn’t Lindsay ADORABLE? I love this girl!

Now, she is giving away a $25 gift card to the LOFT to one lucky still being [molly] reader. Enter now!
