Friday Fives and 24 Weeks!

Soooo, as I am writing this, I’m stuck in the Orlando airport. My flight is delayed a bajillion hours (two, actually… well, as of now, it could be longer). I’m sleepy. I want to take a shower. And I would like ice cream. Sadly, I am unable to find a place that has a place to sleep, let me take a shower, or provide me with ice cream.

Oh well. This too shall pass. Let’s talk about the GOOD things that happened this week, shall we?

  1. My sweet friend Diana hosted a “Fair Trade Fashion” party and I was SO PUMPED because I finally got to meet Erin from The Mighty River Project IN PERSON! YAY! She is as amazing as I thought she would be.
  2. I have been in Florida on business this week and this is what I wore for meetings on Wednesday. It kinda makes me giggle that you can barely see my skirt or my shoes.
  3. I got a wedding save the date and a college graduation announcement from two former students in the mail this week. It makes my heart sing that students I once had the pleasure of teaching still want to keep in touch with me! I am so proud of the women they have become.
  4. Since I was in Florida for business, I got to sneak in a quick visit with my daddy! I only get to see him a few times a year so it was a much needed trip.
  5. I love palm trees. Plain and simple.

maternity travel style: red striped tee, jeans, red toms, longchamp bagHow far along: 24 weeks
How big is baby: An ear of corn!
Weight gain: About 20 pounds. I gained a little too much weight too quickly there, but I leveled off the last two weeks and I’m really happy about that.
Sleeping: Meh.
Food cravings: Cereal (Special K Fruit & Yogurt, to be specific)
Food aversions: Japanese Food
Symptoms: Dizziness
Miss Anything?: My regular Diet Cokes :)
Doctor’s appointment: Got one in about two weeks.
Wedding Rings: Still on! But, I have a feeling they may not last much longer the hotter it gets.
Movement: So much movement. Baby LOVES to move after I eat and right early in the morning. I like to picture baby having like a dance party in my tummy.
Best moment of the week: Spending time with my daddy. :)
What I’m looking forward to: Doing some more registry stuff this weekend.
What I did / Got for baby: Spent time with my daddy – hey, it was for me and so it was also for baby.
What I learned this week: Baby’s skin is beginning to put on fat
Prayer requests: The usual – John and I are spending a lot of time in prayer just asking for God’s wisdom and grace as we prepare to become parents. I’m definitely feeling anxious about a few things and we’re just trusting God in everything – but the more prayers for this, the better! :) AND, of course, for the continued health and growth of the baby.

High Five for Friday + 23 Weeks!

Friday High Fives

  1. My husband put up a little area in our backyard and a hammock for me! I’ve always wanted a hammock! Ohhhh the relaxing I’ll be doing this summer in this here hammock.
  2. My sweet friend Dani and I at her shower. I’m so blessed that God placed her in my life and I feel even MORE blessed that we’re going through our pregnancies together.
  3. I took some group portraits for the seniors of the Phi Mu chapter at UNC. I had so much fun spending time with them – made me miss my college years.
  4. Not exactly a highlight, but I went to the orthopedist this week because my right hand has been hurting really badly – and well, it turns out I have tendinitis. Yeah, no fun. So I gotta wear this brace for a few weeks. Lame.
  5. An evening on the new hammock with a vanilla, cookie dough, and Reese’s cup Twister from Andy’s… my kind of warm Spring evening.

What are YOUR highlights of the week?
second trimester maternity style - cobalt and white striped Old Navy jersey dress, yellow belt, cobalt Converse Chuck Taylor's - North Carolina Fashion BloggerHow far along: 23 weeks
How big is baby: 11 inches and about a pound and a half!
Weight gain: About 20 pounds. I was worried this was too much, but it appears I’m doing okay. My doctor doesn’t seem to be concerned which is good.
Sleeping: Spotty at best.
Food cravings: Cereal. Milk. Mandarin oranges.
Food aversions: Nada!
Symptoms: Tired, always. The newest symptom is dizziness. Like, REALLY dizzy. Sometimes I’m so dizzy I have to just lay down.
Miss Anything?: Sleeping on my stomach. Sleeping on my back. Sleeping well at all.
Doctor’s appointment: I had a doctor’s appointment last week and everything looks great! I’m measuring about a week ahead of schedule (which is okay), but baby is healthy and has a heartbeat of 140bpm!
Wedding Rings: Still on! BUT, on our walk last night, my right hand started to swell a lot – I don’t know if it’s because of my recent tendinitis diagnosis or what, but yeah.
Movement: YES! Baby is finally KICKING. It’s still pretty soft, but they’re definitely kicks. It’s such a sweet feeling. As creepy as this is, when baby starts moving, I find myself talking to the baby… asking how it’s day is going, etc… Is that weird?
Best moment of the week: Baby finally kicking!
What I’m looking forward to: Husband and I are going to start registering this week… or at least that’s the plan.
What I did / Got for baby: Nothing this week.
What I learned this week: Baby’s eyes are now sensitive to LIGHT and sound. I thought that was kind of cool.
Prayer requests: John and I are spending a lot of time in prayer just asking for God’s wisdom and grace as we prepare to become parents. I’m definitely feeling anxious about a few things and we’re just trusting God in everything – but the more prayers for this, the better! :) AND, of course, for the continued health and growth of the baby.

Happy Friday!

Friday Fives + 22 Weeks!

high-five-for-friday-4-5_05351. I had SO much fun picking out paint chips and floor samples at Home Depot last weekend. It’s making this whole nursery planning thing a little more real!
2. The Easter Bunny came to the Stillman Household! I got Sour Patch Kids in my Easter basket. <3
3. My sweet nephew came to hang out and we went to an Easter egg hunt… but the highlight of the day for him was the big firetruck that he got to climb all over. I love that little boo.
4. Snuggly puppies make everything better.
5. My sweet husband planted daisies for me in our flower planter. Aren’t they pretty?

What about you? What were some of your moments of the week this week?

And now for my 22 week pregnancy update!

How far along: 22 weeks
How big is baby: 11 inches and about a pound!
Weight gain: I honestly haven’t checked this week. Whoops.
Sleeping: Getting a little better!
Food cravings: Cereal, french fries, strawberry ice cream all day err’day.
Food aversions: Nothing really this week. Thankfully!
Symptoms: Still just very tired all the time. I haven’t gotten that “energy” boost I’ve been waiting for, but I’m finally not nauseous ALL the time… I’m only nauseous SOME of the time. :)
Miss Anything?: Sleeping on my stomach. Sleeping on my back. Sleeping in general. I also REALLY miss Diet Coke… like real, fountain Diet Coke. Caffeine Free DC only gets me so far.
Doctor’s appointment: My 22 week checkup is today (Friday)!
Wedding Rings: Still on!
Movement: Lots of flutters, no big kicks yet. Baby moves A LOT after I eat.
Best moment of the week: Spending time with family for Easter!
What I’m looking forward to: Kicks. Real baby kicks!
What I did / Got for baby: We started working on the nursery plans some more. We still haven’t actually “done” anything, but we are at least at the point where we are seriously planning!
What I learned this week: To keep from turning to a little prune in the womb, the baby develops and grows this thin layer of hair and like a white paste or something all over their skin. Isn’t that crazy?
Prayer requests: For the continued health and growth of the baby! I want this baby to be strong and healthy when he / she is born. I mean, what mother wouldn’t? :)

Ice Cream, SVU, and 21 Weeks!

So, I’m gonna be real with you for a second.

This is basically what I did for 99% of the week:

ice cream and law and order SVUYes, eat ice cream sundaes and watch SVU on Netflix.

That’s what you do when you’re sick. Right? Right. So, that’s basically the highlight of my week.

What about you?

still being molly spring maternity style: belted mint green oxford, maternity jeans, converseHow far along: 21 weeks
How big is baby: 10 inches and about 12 ounces – spaghetti squash.
Weight gain: About 12-13 pounds so far.
Sleeping: Not great.
Food cravings: Honestly, this week it’s been all over the place since I was sick. Pretty much ice cream was all I wanted because it felt so good on my throat.
Food aversions: Japanese food. Still.
Symptoms: It’s been hard to tell since I was sick on top of everything else, but I can say that my nausea has finally started to subside. Thank God.
Doctor’s appointment: My 22 week checkup is next week!
Wedding Rings: Still on!
Movement: Still no real “KICKS” yet – as the doctor said it may be a little while longer before I can feel them, but I am definitely feeling some movement… the “flutters,” if you will.
Best moment of the week: Getting over being sick! Huzzah!
What I’m looking forward to: Kicks. Real baby kicks!
What I did / Got for baby: I’m trying to get myself more organized in the “planning” aspect of all of this. I’m finding myself doing a little bit of slacking in that area. OOOO and I bought some canvas deals on Living Social so I can get some more canvases printed for the nursery. That’s always fun!
What I learned this week: The baby can hiccup! And the baby does so as a means to practice breathing. Crazy!
Prayer requests: Sleep! AND, I’m seeing that April is going to be a busy month – there’s something going on EVERY weekend and so I’m praying that I can get through all of it and do everything that needs to be done to the best of my ability!
