Okay, it’s time for some Real Talk (or #RealTalk in hashtag speak).

#RealTalk: The dress I’m wearing in this post isn’t even a maternity dress, but it fits like one. And I love it. Boom.

#RealTalk: Golden Double Stuf Oreos are my new favorite cookie. They are so much better than regular Double Stuf oreos.

#RealTalk: I’ve gained too much weight in this pregnancy and I’ve genuinely tried to do what I can to keep it down and not gain too much, but it’s so hard. (This is totally unrelated to my new love of Golden Double Stuf Oreos. I promise.) I’m really trying to eat everything in moderation, but I fight this weird fight of being STARVING one minute and then four bites in to my meal I’m full. I hardly finish what I eat anymore, but I’m still gaining weight. Also, exercise is tough. Those pregnant women you see running races and being all active and stuff? Those women are heroes and I want to be like them, but sadly, I’m not. I’m trying, though!

#RealTalk: While I love my belly right now, I hate my body. I feel like in the last month everything has just grown OUT. My hips, my feet, my arms, my chest, my legs… it’s all growing OUTWARDS. Everything is getting wider. And as someone who has struggled with body image issues her whole life, it’s not helping that people keep asking me if I’m sure I’m not having twins. YES, I AM SURE I AM NOT HAVING TWINS. There is one baby in there. ONE. Like, I know it’s lighthearted but, come on. How am I supposed to take that? Asking a pregnant woman if she is sure she isn’t having twins is basically telling her you think she’s huge.

#RealTalk: Sometimes I want to vent about stuff like this just to vent about it. I’m not really looking for a solution or advice… sometimes I just want to vent.

#RealTalk: The Wendy’s by my house has caffeine free Diet Coke on tap… and it makes me happy. So yes, I go to Wendy’s JUST to get a fountain drink. Sue me.

#RealTalk: My husband got me this purse as a Mother’s Day gift (the one on my wish list!) and I am obsessed with it. Yes, I know it’s kinda weird that a purple purse would make me so happy, but it does.

#RealTalk: I am rewatching the entire series of Arrested Development in preparation for season FOUR coming to Netflix on May 26th. I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am. Most hilarious show ever.

still being molly maternity style: belted floral cardigan, striped shirt, Litva's Jewelry earrings

#RealTalk: I’m super excited to bring you a FABULOUS giveaway from the adorable and oh-so-gorgeous Sandra of Litva’s Jewelry. You’ve seen her on here before as she’s been one of my amazing sponsors for a few months. Well, today’s she’s giving one lucky reader a $40 gift card to her shop! YES! $40!

And considering most of her jewelry is in the $10-$20 range, that’s preeeetty awesome. That’s like two pairs of earrings! Or something. :)

I have a couple pairs of her chandelier earrings and I absolutely LOVE them (pictured to up and to the right).

Something that has long been debated in the “fashion” world – or I guess I should really say the general world – is “What is, ultimately, more important? Style or comfort?

Now, the truth is, this answer is going to be different for pretty much everyone. Some women will say STYLE and say that till they are blue in the face, while others will defend COMFORT till they’re blue in their Danskins.

It’s one of those “issues” that clearly is a non-essential issue, but still one that is interesting to be discussed or debated.

Me? Honestly? I tend to stand on the side of COMFORT. Sure, I have a few dresses that I absolutely LOVE that I can’t for the life of me breathe in or sit comfortably in. Sure, I have a few pair of stilettos that are comfortable for about the first 0.8 seconds and then I want to cut my feet off because cutting my feet off would be less painful than the pain I experience in those shoes. Sure, I have a few pair of earrings that are HUGE and hurt my ears after wearing them for longer than 15 minutes.

But, I would say, unless it is some super special occasion where the STYLE option really outweighs the COMFORTABLE option, I’m pretty much going to choose the latter every time. But, I will say, that I try very, very hard not to sacrifice style for comfort. But, that’s not to say that I haven’t before, because I certainly have.

Thankfully, this outfit fits, in my humble opinion, into BOTH categories – comfort AND style. Or style AND comfort. But that’s neither here nor there. The crazy comfortable striped maxi skirt, the comfortable tank top, the closet staple jean jacket, and my favorite Rainbow flip-flops – with their powers combined – they produce a comfortably stylish outfit. No?

Seriously though, those pieces that you come across that fit into both categories are, in my humble opinion, what you call the FASHION JACKPOT. And those pieces should be bought in every color. Or something.

So, what about you? Do you go for comfort or style? Do you sacrifice one for the other?

Don’t get me wrong, I was super pumped when Marion announced this month’s “Trend of the Month” challenge was lace. I LOVE lace. I love this dress. I wear it a lot.

Well, not so much anymore.

I’ll be honest, it was NOT easy to zip up, but hey, I made it work. But, I can guarantee it won’t be worn again for at least, uhhh, five more months. At least.

Anywho.

I love lace, but I am a little shocked to see that it’s considered a “trend” right now. Like, I really would love to know the process of how “trends” are decided upon. Because, in my book, lace never left.

Lace has always been awesome. But I guess that means that right now it’s just more awesome?

I love fashion (clearly), but I often am dumfounded when I find out about something “coming back into style” or a new “trend” and I’m all over here like, “uhhh I never stopped wearing that.

So, then I start to think, “Wait a tick, have I been “uncool” this whole time and I didn’t know it?”

For example, apparently “arm parties” are no longer cool. Lame. I still like me a good arm party and I will wear one if I want to.

Also, apparently bootcut or flare jeans may be making a come back. Wait, they LEFT? I had no idea.

And this whole “black and white” trend. I mean, black and white seem like colors that never went away to me. I could be wrong, but I didn’t think black and white was ever an “uncool” color scheme to wear. Am I wrong?

I think it’s all just a huge marketing ploy by the fashion industry. And honestly, I’m okay with it. But I wish they’d stop trying to make “fetch” happen, so to speak.

Tell me. What do you think about “TRENDS“? Are there any trends that surprise you? Or trends that you think never went out of style? What about trends you aren’t a fan of?

ONE. + #YOLOmondays Link-Up!

Today is a photo-heavy post and I don’t even care.

One year ago today, February 18th, 2012, I put that white dress on, walked down that aisle, and said the most important words of my life: my vows to my husband.

I know every cliche in the book like, “It was the best day of our lives” and “I married my best friend” etc. etc. etc. You name it. But every cliche in the book couldn’t be more true.

This has been, by far, the most amazing year of my life, and I am so blessed to be married to a man that loves Jesus so much and tries every day to love me just as much as Jesus loves His bride, the church.

John makes me laugh, he challenges me, he pushes me to be a better woman, and I love every minute I’m with him even more than the last. He is honestly more than just my best friend, my husband, and my partner, he is my everything and I can’t imagine life without him.

John Stillman, I love you more than words will ever be able to ever describe. Thank you for putting up with my quirks, laughing at my nerdiness, and telling me I’m beautiful every day. I love you. I love you. I love you.

Happy Anniversary.

So, on this our anniversary, I had to relive our wedding day through images. And I wanted to share some of them with y’all. (It was SO hard to narrow it down! But hey, it’s fine, right? Right.)

Now, let me explain briefly… after the bridal party walked down the aisle, the lights went out and a video played. It was like a “wedding checklist” – etc. and then the music built and all that and then I came down the aisle. It was a total surprise to our guests and it was AWESOME.still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography

So, I thought it would be a good idea if I sang a song during the ceremony. Well, it was going great until the awkward instrumental break. I was SO nervous that I deflected by doing a dance. Then I started laughing and everyone started laughing and I couldn’t regain composure. It was hilarious and so very typical me.still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography still being molly - cowboy themed country wedding photographed by Katelyn James Photography
