Casual Saturday Fashion & Your Weekly Roundup

[Blouse: Everly (via Fedora Boutique in Carrboro, NC), Tank: Express (old), Shorts: Target, Necklace: Walmart (old)]

You guys, when I saw this top I fell in love. Then I looked at the price and fell even MORE in love. I seriously adore every piece of clothing Everly makes. Every last one. Not ashamed to admit it, either. Although I can definitely tell you I would never feel comfortable or racy enough to not wear a tank under it. No ma’am.

Anyway, got a nice little Saturday planned. Gonna go to Bed Bath & Beyond, and maybe Home Depot. I don’t know. I don’t know if we’ll have enough time.

And now for your weekly post roundup:

My Attempt at #FASHION: Cobalt & PINK! so fancy.

you guys, this is my pensive look.

You guys. I have no idea what it is about this outfit, but I feel so fancy in it. I know it’s shorts, and a t-shirt, but I wore this outfit and I felt dang fancy.

Maybe it’s the COBALT blue? Well, you could argue it’s ROYAL blue. So I was like royalty! Or something. I refuse to say that this shirt is Duke blue (or dook blue as my husband would say… sorry Elise :) ) I like to think it’s CNU blue! GO CAPTAINS! Anywho, I like wearing this color.

Also, if it’s not the shirt, it could be these shorts. I got them on super sale at the JCrew outlet a couple weeks ago. I got these puppies for $12 on sale and marked down from almost $60! WIN!

Or, if it’s not the shorts, it could be the cobalt wedges that I snagged from the 70% off clearance rack at Target. That is the BEST PLACE TO FIND SHOES. Oh man. These hot COBALT / CNU blue wedges were a whopping $6.58 at my Target… down from $30! YESSSSS.

OR, if it’s not the wedges, or the shorts, or the t-shirt, It could be the PINK. Pink is my fave color. DUH. And I love neon pink.

Needless to say, I FEEL FANCY, YO.

Please excuse my sorry excuse for hair in this post… the North Carolina humidity is brutal on her sometimes and it was especially true on the particular day I wore this fancy thing I called an outfit.

also, i’m not going to apologize for it, but i am going to let you know that yes, i am aware i am pale. this is not a new development, but instead of getting burnt to a crisp every summer, i choose to protect my fair skin with like 19081028 SPF and rock the “fair, delicate matron” look. or something.

standard.

Outfit Deets:

What do you think? Do you feel FANCY in certain outfits? Or certain colors? What color looks REALLY good on you or what color do you LOVE to wear?

Also, I’m linking up with the FABULOUS Sarah over at Simply Sarah for her PINK link-up. :) So much pink so much fun!

xoxo all for now.

My Attempt at Fashion: Pixelated Prints + Neon + Good Friends

{I’m linking this puppy up with Laura over at A Little Bit of Lacquer for Work-It-Wednesday! She’s pretty awesome. You should check her out, yo.}

You guys, remember when I made those sweet DIY neon-toed shoes? Oh, and previewed a little outfit. Well, the real-life application is HERE.

I really wanted to wear this shirt I got from Kohl’s in the clearance section ($8, woop! woop!), but also wanted to be able to make it look casual and dressy in the same day.

I wasn’t sure about the shirt at first – I knew I LOVED the colors, but I wasn’t sold on the style. I am always worried that I can’t pull off the flowy, baggy shirt – that it makes me look unshapely. Or something.

But honestly, in the end, I think it worked pretty well. :) What do you think? Do you love the flowy, baggy, loose shirts? Do they fit well on you or do you have trouble styling them right?

Plus, I loved pairing the casual outfit with shorts and my DIY neon-toed shoes and the night outfit with heels and my favorite jeans.

Leave a comment with what you think!

[the outfit: shirt: Kohl's ($8 on clearance at my Kohl's) | tanks: express (old) | Shorts: jcrew 5" chino |  shoes: wal-mart / diy | necklace: Kazuri (Kenya)]

[please excuse my awful hair. north carolina humidity is brutal, yo.]

[this picture is totally for my friend Cindy. she said i should have done the mary catherine gallagher last week and so now i'm making up for it.]

[pointing out the shoes. i'm a goof, what can i say?]

[i was SO excited cause one of my best friends in the whole world, my little sister from my sorority came through town with her fiance and his two beautiful kiddos and we had lunch. i love my little more than words can say. she was one of my bridesmaids and i just love her. whole lot. oh, and we ate at red robin, my other happy place.]

[derek's adorbs kiddos. i love them.]

[then for nighttime, i switched out the shorts for my favorite old Seven for All Mankind Dojo jeans and nine west heels.]

[my dear, dear sweet friend colette was telling real-life stories for a comedy show at the theater where i used to perform, DSI Comedy Theater, that night. so i got to spend time with her and see her tell hilarious stories. it was AWESOME. the show was hilarious and colette did SUCH a good job!!]

I just love spending time with good friends and laughing till my stomach hurts. It’s so rejuvenating.

So, yeah. Tell me a story. About love. Life. Friends. Fashion. Whatnot. Anything. What’s making you happy right now? What challenges are you trying to face? I dunno, I’m feeling inspired.

xoxo, molly
