Bloopers + Love

If you’re new around here, WELCOME and I have something to tell you! If you’re not, then you are already well aware of what I’m about to say:

I don’t take myself too seriously. Ever. Well, maybe sometimes. But it’s rare.

I am not a “natural” style blogger. I mean, I’ve always loved fashion and had a passion for creativity, but if you had told me five years ago that I’d one day have a blog where I take pictures of myself and post them, I would have spit out my Diet Coke.

I can put an outfit together, yes. But I am NOT a natural in front of the camera. Never have been. I don’t think I honestly ever will be. It’s awkward for me. Heck, it still is. It’s just plain awkward. I wish I could videotape the process that I go through to take my outfit photos. It’s embarrassing.

Anywho. Because, more often than not, it’s just me, my camera, my trusty tripod, and my shutter remote – hilarity often ensues. And when my awesome friend and seriously amazing style blogger Clare posted her outfit post blooper photos, I knew I had to do the same. Thanks for the idea, Clare!

Sadly, I don’t have all my outfit photo bloopers saved – many saw the “Trash” bin RIGHT away, but I did remember to save a few gems along the way.

So, without further adieu, here are a few of my favorite outfit post photo bloopers – and you can click on the photo to see the original outfit, if you want (because fashion has no shame, right?):

I thought what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with a little bit of blooper love? No? Love to laugh? Maybe. Who knows?

Do you have any outfit bloopers? Do you take yourself too seriously? Do you make awkward faces as often as I do?

Happy Valentine’s Day, friends!

[GIVEAWAY] 8×10 Canvas Print from Printcopia!

I am so SO SO excited to share today’s giveaway with y’all. The AMAZING and super awesome and helpful people at Printcopia are giving one of my fabulouso (yes, I just called you fabulouso) readers an 8×10 canvas print of his / her choice!

If you were to take one step into the Stillman home, you would be able to tell that one Stillman resident has an obsession with canvas prints. Yeah, I’m talking photos on a canvas. And yeah, that Stillman would be me. I have A LOT of them in our house.

Printcopia let me print my favorite pic of John and I with our pseudo-kids in Kenya on an 8×10 print and I just love it. It’s hanging above my desk as we speak. You may have seen it in the photos from my post last Friday.

Anywho. This is the print I got:

I am so obsessed with it. I’m obsessed with canvas prints in general because they are so classy looking and they really make your photos pop off the wall.

The canvas prints from Printcopia come with a hook already on the back of the canvas – and so it makes them super easy to hang. I actually have this 8×10 hanging just with a thumbtack. So I didn’t even use a nail or screw.

These larger canvas prints are not from Printcopia, they’re older, but I wanted to show the Printcopia one next to them to give you a point of reference for size, etc.

So no, an 8×10 print is not going to be a great “over-the-couch” print or “take-up-a-whole-freaking-wall” print, but it is a GREAT size for smaller applications like above your desk, among a larger gallery, etc.

And, because I am somewhat crazy, I have an ENTIRE PINTEREST board dedicated to “Photo Display Layouts” because I’m always looking for inspiration for how and where to hang photos.

Anywho, I have to say honestly, that for the price, Printcopia is a GREAT option for affordable, but well made canvas prints. You can even order prints directly from Facebook and Instagram. Printcopia also runs a lot of great specials and coupons ALL the time – so you can be guaranteed to get a greal deal, too. (They’ve got a BOGO deal going on right now – Buy One Canvas Get One FREE before the 25th!!)

And seriously, need a Christmas gift idea for anyone, really? A canvas print is pretty much a win. For real. Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa – THEY LOVE PICTURES. Especially ones of you. On a canvas. I’m just saying.

So yeah, enter the giveaway and get yo’self a canvas!

WOOP!

Happy Tuesday!

The Stillman Wedding: Our First Dance (+ a DIY photo craft!)

John and I love country music. Our first “date” was a Toby Keith concert. Don’t judge.

We also LOVE Eric Church. Like, a lot. When “Chief” came out we both listened to it all the way through together and when this song ["Like Jesus Does"] came on, we looked at each other and said, “Yep, that’s our first dance song.”

It fit us perfectly.

Well, I love this particular photo of our first dance and I knew I wanted to blow it up and frame it and do something cheap, fun, DIY, interesting, unique, etc.

Now, I have a SAAAAWWWEEEEEEETTTTTT story and another SAWWEEEEETTTTTT craft coming up next week – but I wanted to show this one to you first to just give you a teaser [real teaser included at the end of this post].

Also, here’s the song we danced to in case you wanna hear it… :)

I cropped the photo to 8×10 VERTICAL and had it printed at Ritz Camera (SO cheap! and SUCH good quality). I got this frame from Wal-mart for $13. I wanted to write the lyrics to our song around the photo and since I wanted to make sure all the lyrics would fit, I practiced writing it on the little matting insert…

Voila!

I love it.

I know I don’t have the neatest handwriting in the world [I'm a lefty], but it’s so sentimental and I don’t care. :)

all hung on our wall! :) i love it.

… annnnnnnd here is a little teaser of the craft / a-mazing (at least, to me) story coming next week:

[yeah, that's a picture of Eric Church... that's part of the story]

Whattya think? Done anything fun / creative lately?

xoxo, all for now.
