Senior Portraits - UNC Chapel Hill Photographer You may or may not know that in addition to my passion for writing, blogging, fashion, and life – I also have long had a passion for photography.

The truth is, I’ve ALWAYS been that girl with the camera. I have so much fun learning the ins and outs of my camera, coming up with interesting image ideas, and honestly just the creativity of it all.

And in the last year or so, I’ve really tried to take my passion and get even better. There’s SO MUCH to learn and I know that I’m nowhere near the level of a big-time photographer, but I’ve honestly been proud of how much I’ve grown over the past few years.

Anyway, these past few weeks I’ve had the pleasure of shooting some super fun senior portraits for a bunch of different UNC Chapel Hill students.

Each session was seriously a BLAST and it just reminded me how much FUN I have doing these. So, I thought I’d share some of my absolute FAVORITES!

Enjoy. :)

I told them this looked like the cover of the next Spice Girls album! I am OBSESSED with this picture. I got my inspiration for this one from one of my own engagement photos that our photographer Katelyn took. :)

So yeah, so many great women and I had such a fun time behind the camera.

While I’m not a full-time photographer, I am loving growing and learning and having a BLAST while doing it.

What about you? Do you have any hidden (or not so hidden) passions? Anything that you just LOVE to do and you never get sick of it?

Happy Tuesday!

Thankful.

I’m thankful for a lot of things. So many things, actually. It’s often a bit maddening when I try to think about all the things I am thankful for – I just feel so blessed!

I just figured I’d share a few things I’m thankful for:

1. My Phi Mu family.

2. Sweet family memories

3. Kenya <3

4. A job that pays the bills and also allows me to dress up as Darth Vader and run around tradeshow floors

5. The amazing friends I’ve made through triFABB

6. My amazing and sweet newhope friends <3

7. My family. My crazy, insane, hilarious family.

8. My husband’s family (which I’m now a part of) that has so graciously accepted me as their own

9. My amazing in-laws and granny lala in-law. :)

10. Bonnie, my dad, my sister, my BIL, my nephew :)

11. And last, but certainly not least, my husband. I am SO blessed by him. <3

Falling in Love + #YOLOmondays Link-Up!

Happy Monday, you guys!

I am exhausted from an AMAZING weekend up in Leesburg, Virginia for my little sister’s wedding (my little sister from my sorority… I don’t have a biological little sister). It was absolutely STUNNING. Seriously. Amazing. And it was so good to spend time with friends.

I just thought I’d share some photos from the weekend :)

Since my husband couldn’t come up until Saturday, I took the train up on Friday. It was SO FUN. Seriously. I love the train now! Free wi-fi, gorgeous scenery, and so much graffiti. Okay, I know that’s weird, but if you know me, you know I LOVE graffiti… when done well. Seriously. I think it’s awesome. Don’t judge.

Photos from the train…

Graffiti!!

Got into town on Friday evening and headed to Amy’s parent’s house for the rehearsal dinner.

This is me, Amy (the bride to be!), and Claire (my grandlittle):

Bridesmaids with our AWESOME monogrammed robes that Amy got us!

Love these girls. We all happen to be Phi Mus, too. :)

Getting my hair did on Saturday…

Hair done!

In the hotel room getting ready!

Just hanging out before the wedding. :)

Some lovely Phi Mu bridesmaids… and Connor! :)

Holly Chapple did the bouquets and flowers… seriously. HOW amazing are these? GORGEOUS.

We happened to run into this random lady roaming the streets of Leesburg talking to undecided voters. She was actually quite interesting to talk to!

The beautiful bride…

Me and my big, Ashley at the reception!

First dance as husband and wife!

It was seriously an amazing weekend and I will be sure to share more pics with y’all once Katelyn posts them! YES! Katelyn James shot Amy’s wedding, too! Katelyn was our wedding photographer! :)

Anywho.

OKAY, so NOW it is time for the #YOLOmondays LINK-UP with my awesome co-host Carly from Lipgloss & Crayons! If this is your first time here, #YOLOmondays is a chance for us toliterallylink up anything we want (as long as it’s a blog post…). You know, cause it’s Monday, and what better way to jazz up your mundane Monday than to link up and meet some new bloggers?

Also, #YOLO stands for You Only Live Once. Inquiring minds wanted to know.

Carly and I love seeing y’all linked up every week! :)

The Rules for #YOLOMONDAYS Link-Ups:

        1. Grab a button and / or post a link back here in your BLOG POST (NOT your blog’s main page) so your readers know what all the #YOLOMONDAY-ness is about. We love you guys linking up and we do go through and read all your posts… so if you do not give credit, we will have to remove your link. That’s no fun, right? Right. So be nice and share a link! Pretty please? :)
        2. Link your blog post up using the linky tool below! It can be ANYTHING! An outfit post, a giveaway, a story, a recipe, whatever. Why? Cause it’s #YOLOMONDAYS!
        3. Visit a blog or four that you’ve never been to before and leave a #YOLOMONDAYS comment – you never know, you might “meet” someone new that you will lurve!
        4. Have fun! Cause #YOLO!

Kenya in Instagrams

Happy Friday, guys. I know I’ve been talking a lot about Kenya, but well, it’s still fresh and it’s still on my mind (and probably will continue to be for a while. Like, forever).

And, honestly, since I got back on Sunday and was gone for a couple days this week for work, I haven’t had much time to, well, just relax.

So, my Friday post today is dedicated to the Instagrams I shared while in Kenya. It’s hard to explain how beautiful the country and people are. So, I’ll let a few of these simple Instagrams help a little bit.

It’s Friday and that means it’s time to link up with Lauren at From My Grey Desk, Allison at Two-Thirty Five Designs, Me and the Moon, the Bargain Blonde, and Jeannett at Life Rearranged. You should go link up, too! They’re good people.
