Can a pregnant lady wear a non-maternity drop-waist dress?

Yesiree, Bob, she can!

Now, the key to the drop waist trend (which, I’ll be TOTALLY honest, I don’t typically LOVE), is to NOT belt your dress at the waist / chest. That creates an awkward figure / shape that you just don’t want.

I was able to snag this Prabal Gurung for Target cotton drop waist dress on clearance for $10 last week and I love it. It’s not my typical style, but it’s SO UNBELIEVABLY comfortable and super fun. Plus, it was $10. No brainer.

Now, I want to introduce you to my sweet blog friend Lindsay from Pursuit of Pink! She’s got an AWESOME giveaway for y’all today!

lindsay-pursuit-of-pink

Hi everyone! I’m Lindsay and I blog over at Pursuit of Pink, which is my little place of happiness on the internet. I blog about all things that make me happy: beauty, personal style, home décor, recipes, organization and more. And yes, my favorite color is pink, so there is plenty of that great color all over my blog. I am a person who tries hard to stay positive and I certainly hope my blog is uplifting to each of my readers.

Through Pursuit of Pink, I hope to bring a little bit of positivity back to the internet. If you are looking for a place full of happiness, smiles and a silly gal who tries not to take herself too seriously, then please stop by. I love connecting with my readers; I truly believe we can all learn from each other (man that’s so cliché, but true). I’m all over social media too, so follow along on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You’ll be sure to see plenty of pics of my hubby Tolar, our sweet pup JoJo, my growing baby bump (I’m pregnant with our first child and due only a month before Molly!) and our crazy adventures of living in the nation’s capitol.

Isn’t Lindsay ADORABLE? I love this girl!

Now, she is giving away a $25 gift card to the LOFT to one lucky still being [molly] reader. Enter now!

Yes, I know I wore this dress just last week. BUT, let’s be real people. In real life, people wear things more than once. They also wear the same thing in the same week. This dress is comfortable and I happen to love it. So why not wear it again, but make it “feel” different? Last week I wore it with a cardigan and a headband. This week, I wear it with a fun light scarf and my favorite denim jacket. And flip-flops.

I have had this particular pair of brown rainbow flip-flops for TEN years. Yes, ten years. Maybe longer. I can just remember having them for ten years. They are perfectly broken in and basically, once the weather hits 60+ degrees, these puppies go on my feet and are on my feet for 90% of the warm months. Are you with me? Anyone else a Rainbow flip-flop fan? Oh, and by the way, I also have these in black. And I have them in white / beige. So I have all three of my neutral colors covered.

These photos also reminded me, however, that I need to paint my toenails. Thank the Lord you can’t really see my toes in these photos.

Also, funny story, I got about halfway through taking photos of this outfit and realized I still had my extremely ugly wrist brace / splint on (for my tendinitis). NOT cute. So I took it off and started over. It’s totally fine.

On another, more random note, the amount of pollen that is out right now should be illegal. Seriously. I don’t drive a yellow car. My car is blue. But no, it is yellow right now because of all the pollen. My eyes, nose, ears, throat, body, etc. are NOT fans of the pollen.

AMIRIGHT?!

Anywho. It’s Monday and it’s going to be a GREAT week. Get it, y’all.

My sweet mother-in-law sent me this lace maternity shirt as a gift for Easter and it totally made my week. I absolutely love it! (I may or may not have worn it three days in a row). I feel so trendy in it! :)

Then on Monday, when I went out to grab lunch, a totally random stranger tapped me on the shoulder and said, “You look beautiful today!” That little compliment totally caught me off guard and turned my day completely around.

And it’s the little things like the gift from my MIL and the compliment from a stranger that was a quiet, yet much needed reminder, of the blessings in life.

If we choose to pay attention and open our eyes, we can receive countless gifts on a daily basis. The gift of a smile from a stranger, the gift of a gorgeous day, the gift of having all the punches on your frequent bagel card punched so that means you get a free bagel (No? Just me with the bagel card?).

There are so many things that can totally turn our days around if we choose to let them.

But, it also got me to thinking, “How often do I give gifts or bless others?” How often do I compliment a stranger? Or send someone something because I’m thinking of them? Or shoot an email to an old friend just saying hi?

Sure, I try to do those things as much as I can, but if I’m being honest, I could do more.

So, I’ve challenged myself this week (and moving forward) to do more. To bless others. As much as I can. In even the smallest of ways, I know that it might just make a difference.

What about you? In what ways do YOU bless others or in what ways are YOU blessed by others?

Is it any surprise that my favorite movie is Breakfast at Tiffany’s? I know, I know. It’s A LOT of women’s favorite movie, but seriously, I love that movie.

I love that quote from the movie because I feel like, especially lately, that happens to me all the time. One second it’s Monday and the next second it’s Thursday. Sometimes I think Thursday is actually the worst day of the week because it’s a huge tease for Friday and the weekend.

Last week, on Thursday, I had no idea it was Thursday. I honestly went the entire day thinking it was Tuesday. And then THIS week, on Tuesday, I went the entire day thinking it was Thursday. What is wrong with me?

I don’t even know if I can blame it on pregnancy brain. I think it’s just Molly brain and Molly brain is behind a few steps.

Molly brain! It can’t be! It’s too too gruesome! Or something.

AH! But you know what is NOT gruesome? These jeans. Or flowers and stripes together. Nope. Not gruesome in the slightest.

For real. These jeans have pretty much changed my pregnancy style life. I had purchased a few pairs of maternity jeans from a consignment shop and they were just awful. They didn’t fit right, they were uncomfortable, and just plain wretched. But then I went into Motherhood Maternity and said with a bit of desperation, “HELP ME” to the sweet associate and she put me in these and wow. Best. $40. Ever. Spent. Seriously.

Take note preggo ladies and future preggo ladies – shell out $40 for a good pair of maternity jeans. You will not regret it.

Anywho. I’m all over the place today.

Enjoy your gruesome Thursday! :)
