Thankful.

I’m thankful for a lot of things. So many things, actually. It’s often a bit maddening when I try to think about all the things I am thankful for – I just feel so blessed!

I just figured I’d share a few things I’m thankful for:

1. My Phi Mu family.

2. Sweet family memories

3. Kenya <3

4. A job that pays the bills and also allows me to dress up as Darth Vader and run around tradeshow floors

5. The amazing friends I’ve made through triFABB

6. My amazing and sweet newhope friends <3

7. My family. My crazy, insane, hilarious family.

8. My husband’s family (which I’m now a part of) that has so graciously accepted me as their own

9. My amazing in-laws and granny lala in-law. :)

10. Bonnie, my dad, my sister, my BIL, my nephew :)

11. And last, but certainly not least, my husband. I am SO blessed by him. <3

What are YOU thankful for?

Sunday Social

He Can Use You

You guys, Happy Sunday!

It was a great service at church, a great meeting in preparation for Kenya, a great lunch with the team, and a great afternoon taking a nap of epic proportions.

But all day, this one particular quote from today’s sermon has stuck with me:

“God is not attracted to people’s abilities. And He is not distracted by people’s inabilities.”

-Scott Stevenson (our teaching pastor today)

The sermon today was on the story of Rahab, and the way that God was able to use Rahab, a prostitute, for good. It’s an amazing story of redemption. But most of all, Rahab’s story shows us that God can use ANYONE. He doesn’t look at our past, or the outside, or how much money we have, or the nice things we have, or what job we have… He looks at who we are now, without all the other stuff.

And He wants to use us for good. He wants to use us for love, and grace, and compassion.

And that’s an encouraging thought.

What I’m Reading

It’s been a busy day driving back from VA Beach. But as I was settling back in at home and pulled out my Bible app to read today’s scripture, Isaiah 40 popped up for me.

I love this verse and every time I read it, it touches me in a different way.

I hope it blesses you today as it blessed me.

Happy Sunday, y’all.

I’ll see you back here tomorrow for #YOLOmondays linkup!

All for now.

Sunday Scripture: Renewed

You guys, Happy Sunday!

It’s been a great and SUPER productive weekend. It’s been good but husband has been out of town and frankly, I’m ready for him to be home. I miss him. Sappy, I know. But it’s the first time we’ve been apart in FOR-EV-ER. So, yeah. Come home, husband.

Anyway.

I’m up e-a-r-l-y for SWIM FOR SMILES. It’s TODAY! Huzzah!

But just cause I’m up early for something other than church, doesn’t mean I get, like, a Sabbath pass. Nor would I want one.

[SIDE NOTE: I love that my church has what's called "iCampus" so I can catch today's service tonight online! I won't miss anything. If you want, you can check it out at 8pm EST tonight! :) ]

I was getting some work done last night and was listening to one of my Hillsong playlists and the Hillsong Chapel version of “Saviour King” came on. I love this song. It’s always one of those songs that I love more every time I hear it. And I REALLY love this acoustic version of it because it’s so raw. It’s honest. It’s emotional.

Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and uphold me with a willing spirit.
Pslam 51:12

What are you doing today?

And now the weak say I have strength
By the spirit of power that raised Christ from the dead
And now the poor stand and confess
That my portion is Him and I’m more than blessed

Let now our hearts burn with a flame
A fire consuming all for your Son’s holy name
And with the heavens we declare
You are our king

We love you Lord, we worship you
You are our God, you alone are good

You asked your Son to carry this
The heavy cross our weight of sin

I love you Lord, I worship you
Hope which was lost, now stands renewed
I give my life to honor this
The love of Christ, the savior king

Let now your church shine as the bride
That you saw in your heart as you offered up your life
Let now the lost be welcomed home
By the saved and redeemed those adopted as your own

I give my life to honor this
The love of Christ, the savior king.
